Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Stumps, a player-development platform for grassroots cricket (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you use Stumps on behalf of a club or organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation.

2. What Stumps is (and is not)

Stumps helps coaches, parents, and players organise development work — drills, sessions, plans, availability, bookings, and coaching notes.

Stumps is not:

• a live scoring, umpiring, or match-results system;
• a fixtures/league management replacement for Play-Cricket or similar;
• a public social network for players;
• a payments marketplace for coaching fees (bookings are scheduling only).

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Account types include coach, parent, and player (16+). Parents/guardians create and manage profiles for children under 16. You must only create or manage a child profile if you are that child’s parent/guardian or otherwise have lawful authority to do so.

4. Roles and access

Access to player data is limited by links you create or accept (for example coach–player invites and parent–child relationships). Club features may grant additional membership-based access within that club.

Coaches must only invite players/families they have a legitimate coaching relationship with. Recipients should only accept invites from trusted coaches or clubs.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes;
• upload or share content that exploits or endangers children, or violates safeguarding expectations;
• attempt to access another user’s data without authorisation, scrape the Service, or disrupt its security or availability;
• misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or relationship to a player or club;
• use Stumps to spam, harass, or send unsolicited marketing outside normal coaching communications.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or create risk to users, especially juniors.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (notes, plans, media, etc.). You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you and the people you have linked.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and any required parental/guardian permissions to upload content about a player.

7. Third-party services

The Service may link to or embed third-party content (for example drill videos). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites or content.

8. Early access / beta

Stumps may be offered in early access. Features can change, break, or be removed. We aim to keep your data safe, but you should keep your own copies of any critical coaching records you need offline.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Coaching decisions, player welfare, and safeguarding remain the responsibility of coaches, clubs, parents/guardians, and players — not Stumps.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stumps and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or coaching outcomes arising from your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms, if required for security or legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations) will survive termination.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If you continue using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the new Terms, except where local law requires otherwise.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country say otherwise.
